Quinta do Seixo, situated in Tabuaço within the Valença do Douro region, offers visitors a structured introduction to Port wine production under the Sandeman brand. Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, the estate provides guided tours that explore the history of Port wine and the local terroir. The standard winery visit lasts approximately 50 minutes and includes a tasting of three distinct Port varieties: White, Ruby, and Tawny. This experience takes place in the designated tasting room and accommodates groups of one to twenty-five people, including children and wheelchair users.

For those seeking deeper engagement, several alternative options are available. The Vineyard Visit spans 2.5 hours, guiding guests through the estate’s historic Old Vines, which are over a century old, before concluding with a tasting of two Ports. A more premium option, the Old Tawnies Visit, lasts 1.5 hours and features four award-winning Tawny Ports aged 10, 20, 30, and 40 years. During the warmer months, from March to October, visitors can also book a Vineyard Picnic, a three-hour outdoor experience featuring Douro cuisine and wines in the Old Vines vineyard. Additionally, a Wine and Cheese Experience offers a one-hour guided tour paired with three Ports and selected cheeses.

Practical planning is essential for a smooth visit. Admission prices start at €21.74 for the standard tour and rise to €95 for the picnic experience. Opening hours vary by season: from March to October, visits are available from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm, with last entries at 12:15 pm and 5:45 pm. Between November and February, the estate closes earlier, with last visits at 12:15 pm and 5:15 pm. Bookings are subject to availability, and refunds are not offered.
